That is to say an 8-inch wide +45mm offset and 7-inch wide +45mm offset results in a 1/2" difference in wheel positioning. The 8-inch wide will be further into the wheel well. On a 15x8 rim an offset of zero means a backspacing of 4" right? If the offset is -25.4mm, then that is the equivalent of a 3" back space right? The bead flange is generallly about 1/2" thick so you need to add 1" to the advertised wheel width to get the actual physical width. So a 15 X 9 wheel is actually 10 inches wide so a 0mm offset will have a 5inch backspace. A 4.5" backspace is thus about -12mm. So a wheel that is advertised as being 7 inches wide is actually 8 inches wide at the rim edge, and an ET 35 will give a backspace of 5 3/8' (8 divided by two is 4, plus 1 3/8" equals 5 3/8"). So the wheel that you are looking at is probably 7 inches wide. The second rim (16x8 ET0) has 4.5" backspacing. The first one is pointless as the stock rims have 5.5" backspacing, so between the first and the second, the second is better. I run 2" lift with stock rims and 1.5" (38mm) Eibach spacers, bringing the effective offset (ET) to 0 (and backspacing to 4") with 245/70/16 tyres and NO pinch weld done.
